Full Open Water Course
- Combine vacation time with
an Open water Course. Your internationally recognized certification will
take 3-4 days. Advanced reservations will ensure that we can meet your schedule.
Course fee includes all materials, equipment, instruction, and dives.
Advanced Open Water Course
- The next step on the ladder
for the Open water Diver. The course is designed to increase your knowledge of
Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation, plus three specialty dives. Choose from
these interesting dives particularly suitable for our environment; Multi-level
Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Naturalist, Fish Identification
and Wreck Diving. Earn your Advanced Open Water card with 5 dives in 2 or 3
days. These are great dives to do in Tortola, plus they help divers improve
their skills while seeing things they would otherwise swim over.
Wreck Diver Specialty Course
- Wrecks fascinate many
divers. You may find yourself curious about what’s inside them, what sank them
and what they were like before they went down. Many divers see wrecks as time
capsules holding clues to the past and consider them tangible historical and
archaeological resources.
The British Virgin Islands has a number of wrecks for
divers to explore, including the famous wreck of the
RMS Rhone, which is perfect for learning the basic principles of wreck
diving. Students can also visit the Virgin Islands Folk Museum and view original
artifacts of the time.
The PADI Wreck Diver course is divided into knowledge
development and open water training. The knowledge development portion explains
the principles and information you need for making and enjoying recreational
wreck dives, with topics including wreck diving law, hazards to avoid, how to
research wrecks, and the basics of wreck penetration. Knowledge development is
handled through independent study with the Wreck Diver manual and review
sessions with your instructor prior to open water training.
During open water training, you’ll apply the knowledge
you’ve learned as you develop wreck diving skills. As you master these
techniques, you’ll learn to adapt what you practice to suit the wreck you’re
diving on and your personal interests. Open water training is split over 4 dives
with student’s practicing the following techniques:
- Navigation and overview of wreck exterior
- Hazard assessment
- Mapping of wreck
- Assessment of penetration points
- Line use
- Practice of penetration techniques
- Wreck penetration
To enroll in the PADI Wreck Diver course, you must be certified as a PADI
Adventure Diver (or have proof of a qualifying certification from another
training organization similar to that of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver) and
be 15 years of age or older.
Other PADI courses are available upon request, schedule permitting. Contact us
directly to discuss your requirements and to check dates and prices.
